A memo sent by FedEx精东影业 Vice President Pat DiMento to the parcel delivery company精东影业 pilots has encouraged them to consider moving to an American Airlines regional carrier.

According to the message, posted online by @xJonNYC, DiMento cites that FedEx is 鈥渟ignificantly overstaffed鈥 and that air cargo demand remains stubbornly at levels similar to 2019.聽聽

However, while FedEx may have more pilots than is needed the VP points out that the 鈥減assenger industry鈥 is not facing the same issue.

鈥淐arriers continue to hire pilots at a pace we haven鈥檛 seen in recent history with no apparent end in sight,鈥 DiMento writes.

The memo then sets out how FedEx pilots can take up an opportunity to join American Airlines鈥 regional carrier, PSA Airlines.

According to the executive the scheme, introduced by American, offers FedEx pilots an 鈥渆xpediated interview process directly into the captain’s seat鈥.

Included in the deal is a $250,000 signing on bonus and a direct path to flying for American.

鈥淲hile I understand this is not something that will appeal to every pilot, for those of you who are frustrated with current flight hours, career progression, or have just been on the fence about available options, you may consider this unique opportunity enough of an incentive to make a move,鈥 DiMento wrote.

A for Fed-Ex pilots to start the transition to American has also been setup.聽

鈥淚 have no doubt that Fed-Ex will continue to navigate the turbulent market conditions that are inherent in this business and will remain a great place to work for pilots and others in the long term. That said, I certainly understand if some of you decide that your particular circumstances are leading you to pursue opportunities elsewhere,鈥 DiMento concluded.聽 聽
